About Our Client

The self-employed workforce is a rapidly growing group of 60 million Americans. Innovative solutions are being developed to help self-employed individuals with taxes, accounting, and business banking. A company is dedicated to providing tools for security and peace of mind, offering a business bank account that automates taxes and expense tracking. They are seeking passionate individuals to join in building a safety net for the self-employed.

About The Role

Our client is looking for an exceptional Product Manager to join the team and take over ownership of a core area of the product experience. The ideal candidate is a true business owner who thrives on discovering new opportunities, defining them, and executing against them to advance the business forward. The Banking Product team plays a central role in the operation, focusing on building a world-class banking product that self-employed individuals appreciate. The product strategy revolves around offering reliable, fully-featured checking accounts with additional small business features. This full-stack team comprises its designers, engineers, and product analysts.

Day to day, you will:

  • Build and maintain the roadmap for Banking, utilizing research and data insights to prioritize feature improvements and new feature developments.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Data, and Compliance to bring this roadmap to fruition, ensuring that feature launches are bug-free, meet service-level agreements (SLAs), and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Manage Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), quarterly goal-setting, and regular progress check-ins for your area of responsibility.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • 8+ years of experience in a product management capacity, leading end-to-end user-facing product development. Direct experience with payments or money movement is required.
  • A proven record of creating 0 → 1 business opportunities that please customers and provide business value. You are a self-starter who does not need a highly defined problem statement to jump in and contribute effectively.
  • A business-minded approach to product ownership. You excel at understanding business needs and managing core business KPIs, as well as creating user-facing experiences. You are a strategic thinker and enjoy participating in company-level strategy discussions.
  • A data-driven mindset with a strong focus on prioritization; you are comfortable working with data and eager to develop a roadmap based on both quantitative and qualitative inputs.

You may also have:

  • Excellent in-person and written communication skills. You have a talent for articulating complex concepts clearly, concisely, and in an actionable manner to teammates, cross-functional partners, and users!
  • Experience with ACH transfers, wire transfers, real-time payments (RTP), bill pay, and reconciliation.
  • An ownership mentality—constantly pushing the boundaries of the user experience and advocating for customers. You foster team engagement by sharing roadmaps, prioritization trade-offs, and insights/lessons learned regularly.
  • Interest or experience in financial services, accounting, and self-employment.
