FloVision Solutions is a remote-first startup focused on improving the food supply chain, starting with protein processing. We design computer vision and machine learning assisted production processes to reduce waste, improve QA and improve staff skills, using proprietary hardware and software to solve customer problems.

FloVision Solutions is a U.S based seed stage startup, with a remotely distributed team across USA and Ireland. Preference for a candidate located in Ireland or UK, but open to other applicants who can work on European and/or American timezones.

This role will provide key support for FloVision AI/ML data operations including managing datasets, managing annotators, statistical analysis, and ensuring annotation protocols and documentation are up to date and allowing models to meet customer needs.

• Responsible for all annotation and managing data (post data collection, pre model).
• Suited to a well-rounded, experienced Data analyst, engineer, or computer scientist with a data, human resources, or operations background.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing a team of part time annotators.
• Recruiting annotators and managing annotation tasks.
• Onboarding and Off-boarding annotators.
• Creating annotation documentation for an expanding list of ML/AI models.
• Quality Assurance tasks on annotation outputs.
• Identifying annotation weaknesses and trends.
• Creating and managing an annotation incentive/bounty structure.
• Ability to create, use, edit, and understand python scripts to automate data processing tasks and create cloud functions where necessary.
• Ability to work with SQL and database queries.
• Visual and statistical evaluation of models, annotations, and datasets.
• Required to work independently or as part of a team.
• Additional MLOps capabilities are a bonus, including model deployment, model analysis and benchmarking, data pipelines, etc.

Education:

A post-secondary diploma or degree specializing in computer science, engineering, data analysis, business analytics, product/project management or equivalent. AI/ML experience is an asset.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience managing a project, product, or personnel. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with databases, datasets, data analytics, AI/ML pipelines, software development, or similar.

• Experience with CVAT and/or Roboflow is a plus.
• Experience with various fields of computer vision (image classification, object detection, instance segmentation, etc) is a plus.
• Experience with Sagemaker pipelines or Vertex AI pipelines is a plus.

The successful candidate is a good communicator, displays professionalism and has well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a multi-disciplined team. Must have experience and be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Individual must have the ability to quickly gain knowledge to readily troubleshoot systems. Candidate should have a “Bias for Action” and a desire to “Get Shit Done”.
