It is an exciting time of growth for argenx as we strive to achieve our VISION 2030 to transform the treatment of autoimmune diseases by strengthening our leadership in neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) biology, investing in our pipeline of differentiated antibody candidates, and scaling in a disciplined way to ensure innovation remains core to the argenx mission. VISION 2030 includes the following goals: 50,000 patients globally on treatment with an argenx medicine, 10 labelled indications and five new molecules in Phase 3 development.
The Senior Director Global Pricing will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of pricing strategies for the company’s portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimizing access and revenue across diverse markets. The role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, payer landscapes, regulatory environments, and competitor activities within the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. The individual will play a pivotal role in shaping pricing models that reflect product value, maximize affordability, and support long-term business growth.

Reports to the global Market Access lead
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Pricing Development
Lead the development of pricing strategies for the company’s pipeline and in-market products, ensuring alignment with market access, commercial, and corporate objectives.
Build dynamic pricing frameworks that consider regional and country-specific payer requirements, health technology assessments (HTAs), and affordability constraints.
Conduct price optimization modelling and scenario planning to inform strategic decision-making.
2. Operational Pricing Management
Oversee pricing governance processes, including price setting, price approvals, and compliance monitoring across the region.
Ensure alignment of local pricing strategies with global pricing frameworks while managing pricing corridors and mitigating risks of international price referencing.
Provide operational pricing support, including managing price changes, discounts, tenders, and contracts.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Market Access, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory, and Finance, to ensure pricing strategies are integrated with broader corporate objectives.
Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on pricing opportunities, challenges, and recommendations.
Work closely with country teams to support local pricing negotiations and market access strategies.
4. Insights and Analytics
Conduct competitive pricing analyses, leveraging data on payer trends, competitor pricing strategies, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.
Develop robust pricing models, leveraging advanced analytics to inform decision-making and forecasting.
Monitor the global pricing trends, policy changes, and payer behaviours to ensure proactive adaptation of strategies.
Assess implications of variable pricing by country, price corridors, and international reference pricing
5. Leadership and Compliance
Ensure pricing strategies and activities comply with all legal, regulatory, and corporate standards, including anti-bribery, anti-trust, and fair competition laws.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
10+ years of experience in regional or global pricing, market access, or related roles within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful pricing strategies for innovative therapies, including biologics or rare disease treatments.
Strong understanding of international payer systems, HTA processes, and regulatory environments.
Experience with product in a portfolio and multiple presentations a plus
Critical thinking including observation, analysis, being able to succinctly articulate a problem and identify a solution
Highly organized and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
A sense of urgency and a passion for helping patients and their communities
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Economics, Life Sciences, or a related field. Ph.D. or MBA preferred
Expertise in pricing analytics, financial modelling, and scenario planning.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
High level of cultural awareness and ability to work effectively in a multi-country environment
Ability to thrive in an environment where co-creation and partnership is key
Experience effectively managing external agency partners, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and internal/external stakeholders to effectively implement strategies and programs
