Job Description:

SUMMARY

At Accel Entertainment, we’re all about creating winning experiences — for our partners, our players, and our people. We’re looking for an Events & Tradeshow Manager to take the lead in bringing our brand to life on the big stage. From national tradeshows and key account activations to cultural celebrations and community outreach, this role sits at the center of it all. No two days will be the same — one week you might be managing a booth presence at a major expo, and the next you could be planning a charitable golf outing, a client activation, or an employee celebration. This position blends creativity, logistics, and strategy to deliver unforgettable experiences that showcase Accel inside and out. Travel is part of the excitement, with at least four national tradeshows per year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tradeshows That Wow

  • Own the full lifecycle of local and national tradeshows — from budgeting and logistics to booth design and vendor coordination.
  • Lead on-site setup, tear-down, shipping, inventory, and staff prep so every show runs smoothly.
  • Track performance, measure ROI, and share post-show recaps with wins, learnings, and big ideas for the next one.

Client & Field Activations

  • Partner with Key Account Managers to design and deliver activations that strengthen relationships and engage players.
  • Keep our Prize Patrol Van buzzing with fresh prizing, creative activities, and memorable brand moments.
  • Coordinate collateral, communications, and on-site logistics that bring campaigns to life.

Community & Giving Back

  • Oversee golf outings end-to-end — from requests and inventory to vendor coordination and execution.
  • Manage charitable giving with the Community Funds team, ensuring contributions reflect Accel’s values.
  • Highlight our community impact across channels and pitch new ideas for giving back in meaningful ways.

Culture & Team Experiences

  • Plan and deliver employee events that bring our culture to life — holidays, birthdays, team outings, and celebrations at The Card House.
  • Lead company-wide initiatives like the annual Holiday Gift program.
  • Launch and support engagement efforts that make employees feel connected, valued, and celebrated year-round.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as the connector across sales, marketing, operations, compliance, and warehouse teams to align event goals.
  • Run monthly planning sessions with sales to prioritize and share updates.
  • Mentor and manage a summer events intern, giving them hands-on experience and guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in event management, tradeshows, or experiential marketing (gaming, hospitality, or entertainment industry experience preferred).
  • Ability to work on site from our Burr Ridge office 4 days/week.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing large-scale events, from logistics and budgeting to creative activations and on-site management.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple events, deadlines, and stakeholders at once.
  • Proficient in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget oversight.
  • Creative thinker who can design engaging event experiences and bring fresh ideas to life.
  • Skilled at using data to measure event performance, ROI, and attendee engagement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships across diverse teams and partners.
  • Willingness to travel (minimum of four national tradeshows per year with overnight stays, plus regional and client events as needed).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regular travel required, including at least four national tradeshows per year with overnight stays, plus regional client and field events.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods during events.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs. for event setup and teardown.
  • Work hours may include evenings and weekends depending on event schedules.
  • Standard office environment when not traveling, with frequent use of computer, phone, and related equipment.
  • Frequent hand and finger use, verbal communication, and active listening required.
  • Occasional climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling during event setup.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work may occur indoors or outdoors, sometimes in varied weather conditions.
  • Noise levels are typically moderate but may be higher during events.
