BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer with 12+ years of experience to work closely with system and software engineers to design, prototype, and integrate AI advancements into the existing RAD architecture, at Annapolis Junction, MD. Salary
The typical annual salary range for this position is $150,000.00 USD to $200,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
- This is a transformative position focused on building solutions that augment human intelligence, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall effectiveness of intelligence operations
- Lead the design and development of AI-driven solutions from conception to deployment, ensuring seamless integration with the existing software architecture. This includes prototyping new models, writing production-quality code, and maintaining existing AI systems
- Serve as a key technical liaison, collaborating with cross-functional teams including system engineers, software developers, and domain experts. Effectively present and articulate recommended AI approaches, discussing the tradeoffs and implications of different implementations with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on diverse datasets (both structured and unstructured) to inform the data model, identify data quality issues, and determine optimal input formats for AI models
- Develop, train, and evaluate a variety of machine learning models, ensuring they meet performance and reliability requirements. Implement robust testing and validation strategies to ensure models are accurate and unbiased
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, continuously seeking opportunities to apply new technologies and methodologies to improve existing systems and solve complex problems
- Have experience with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform and machine learning operations (MLOps) tools for deploying and managing machine learning models at scale
- (12) years’ experience as a Software Engineer in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, or problem diagnosis/resolution
- Experience communicating directions and providing guidance to junior programmers/analysts, as required
- Candidates MUST have AI experience
- Candidates must submit the date of their most recent polygraph

EDUCATION
Degree: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Allowable Substitution: Four (4) years of additional SWE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree can be substituted for two (2) years’ experience
CLEARANCE – fully cleared TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
Condition of Employment: Applicant must have an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph Clearance. Polygraphs must have been completed within the last seven years. The applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
