JOB SUMMARY

B-Stock is seeking a React Developer with WordPress/PHP experience to replatform our WordPress site to React. Initially focused on the replatforming project, this role will also support the new platform long-term and contribute to our core React-based products and features.

You will be responsible for navigating and informing the transition of a custom WordPress site into the new architecture, including CMS integration and database migration. After the replatform, you will maintain and support it, and continue to integrate with our core team to design and implement product features, resolve defects, and develop innovative solutions to complex, industry-specific challenges. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative, global environment and offers opportunities to manage and architect SaaS-driven software solutions, delivering web-based applications.

We seek an enthusiastic developer passionate about building and architecting UI applications in React for both customer-facing and internal tools. You should understand the full-stack implications of your choices, advocate for solving problems with a great user experience in mind, and balance tech debt against a constant flow of new features.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute code to a Single Page Application using modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically React and Next.js.
• Customize and extend WordPress functionalities to meet short-term project requirements and ensure a smooth transition.
• Play a key role in a replatforming project, transitioning our WordPress site to a React-based architecture, and assisting with data migration.
• Develop and maintain responsive and performant user interfaces, delivering seamless user experiences.
• Facilitate asynchronous calls between the UI and RESTful APIs, ensuring efficient data fetching and state management.
• Implement unit tests for React components using Jest to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Handle cross-cutting concerns such as authentication/authorization, internationalization (i18n), logging, security, and testing within developer boilerplates to minimize production errors.
• Partner with the DevOps Team to support UI continuous integration and deployment processes.
• Collaborate directly with UX/UI designers to implement UX/UI strategies and designs.
• Assist QA in resolving issues by reproducing, diagnosing, and studying the root cause of problems.
• Follow product requirements for future releases, contributing to development and innovation.
• Demonstrate conversance across front-end and back-end development, making modifications and enhancements across all system aspects.
• Engage in ongoing interaction with designers, project managers, and testers to optimize application usability, features, and performance.
• Interpret wireframes and requirements documents into sound technical solutions.
• Work on projects from product requirements to launch, including code review, unit testing, and deployment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

• 5+ years experience building with React and Next.js.
• Understanding of architectural principles and experience building and using enterprise frameworks (at least one framework).
• Proven experience in web technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related front-end technologies.
• Mid-level proficiency in PHP, with hands-on experience in WordPress development.
• Experience with Relational and Non-Relational Database solutions.
• Experience working within a microservice architecture.
• Experience with mobile & desktop browser concerns, capabilities and limitations.
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
• Able to work effectively in a distributed team environment and effectively communicate technical concepts.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Typescript.
• Experience with secure application development (website and web services security).
• Experience with building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Node.js (Express.js / NestJS frameworks).
• Experience with mobile application development.
