About the Position:

The Application Support Engineer will play a very important role in our organization. You’ll act as a liaison between our development team and the rest of our internal teams by monitoring our software, troubleshooting system errors, and analyzing operational deficiencies.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter that already plays a role in the support or BizOps space and is comfortable in analyzing how systems interact with data. You have a keen sense of best support practices and understand how those achieve business objectives. Your can-do attitude and willingness to diagnose with a hands-on approach will help us find new ways we can continuously improve and implement the best environment for our infrastructure.

*This position is a 100% U.S. based remote opportunity that can be based in one of the following states AL, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, KY, LA, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI.

Some travel for team meetings and training may be required. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship at this time.

Key Responsibilities: (What you'll be asked to do)

  • Work closely with all teams across our organization to ensure our overall Development Operations strategies are well communicated and understood.
  • Monitor production systems, research issues, and file bug reports.
  • Answer technical questions from Swyfft staff via ticketing system regarding error messages, how to use our software, and our vendor’s software.
  • Communicate issues to business units and work closely with them to develop strategies for mitigating impacts to customers.
  • Evaluate if business initiatives are meeting their intended outcome via data analysis.

The Successful Candidate: (What we're looking for)

  • You’re motivated, show initiative, and understand what it means to get the job done.
  • Troubleshooting is your forte: if you don’t know the answer you do the research and find a solution.
  • You are comfortable with relational database structures and querying data to define how things work (or, maybe, are not working as intended).
  • Your follow-up skills are impeccable; you are naturally curious and always want to find out the “why” when something happens.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Once you gain a comfort level with your new surroundings, you operate independently.
  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills; you feel comfortable crafting business requirements and communicating tech requirements to technical and non-technical teams.
  • Great customer service skills! You are patient and enjoy problem-solving.
  • You are no stranger to the world of remote work. In other words, you were doing this “remote work thing” before Covid.

Some Requirements: (What you’ll need to be successful)

  • 5+ years of experience in a BizOps, Business Analysis, QA, or database role within a fast-paced, innovative company.
  • Experience making significant contributions to the business.

Other Preferred (but not required) experience:

  • A general understanding of the P&C insurance policy life cycle, written premium transactions, and premium rating concepts.
  • Exposure to data warehousing and enterprise-level BI report design.
  • Experience creating detailed, accounting-level report reconciliations and/or forensic data analysis.

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent work experience required.

Computer Skills:

  • SQL server experience is a must.
  • We’re a MS Office environment. (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using video and chat technology. (MS Teams & Slack)

Other:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required.
  • Designated quiet work from home space.

We Have a Great Benefits Package!

  • 20 days of PTO annually
  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • Short- and Long-Term Disability (Company Paid)
  • Life & AD&D (Company Paid)
  • Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit FSA
  • 401K with a generous matching contribution and no vesting schedule
