Roles & Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand UVL’s brokerage systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
- Assist experienced Broker Agents with day-to-day freight coordination and load management.
- Support customer and carrier communication, including updates on load status, tracking, and delivery issues.
- Source carriers and negotiate freight rates to ensure profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Enter and maintain accurate load details in the McLeod system.
- Resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Participate in regular performance reviews and training sessions as part of the development program.
- Demonstrate strong ethical conduct and uphold UVL’s values of integrity, safety, and service excellence.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous customer service, logistics, or sales experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
Training Program Overview:
- Duration: 6–12 months (depending on experience and performance).
- Focus Areas: Logistics fundamentals, freight negotiation, carrier relations, customer account management, and compliance.
Upon successful completion, trainees may advance to a Broker Agent role with full-load management responsibilities and earning potential based on performance.
