Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations (INGO), at work in more than 50 countries and more than 25 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. A force for humanity, IRC employees deliver lasting impact by restoring safety, dignity and hope to millions. If you're a solutions-driven, passionate change-maker, come join us in positively impacting the lives of millions of people world-wide for a better future.
Please note: This is an unpaid internship.
Funded by the Department of State’s Bureau for Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), the Remote Placement Community Partner Program (RPCP) is a sub-program of the federal Reception and Placement (R&P) program. Through the RPCP program, community groups across the country provide initial resettlement services to newly arriving refugees as they transition into a state of self-sufficiency. The headquarters resettlement team provides technical assistance and guidance to community partners regarding the delivery of core services, as well as ensuring services are being documented per federal guidelines.
SCOPE OF WORK: The R&P Intern will work to support the national management of the RPCP R&P program, primarily managing administrative elements of the program. This includes quality assurance of client case files, tracking arrivals and program spending, and supporting the development and delivery of training materials to community partners. She/he will work directly under the supervision and guidance of the Program Officer for Expanded Placement.
COMMITMENT: Minimum 3 months, 10-20 hours a week with the possibility of extension.
