Position Title: PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
Location: HOUSTON, TX / CYPRESS, TX
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Responsible to: PROGRAM MANAGER, ASSET MANAGEMENT

Position Summary: The Production Coordinator plays a key role in supporting VoltaGrid’s asset build and deployment efforts, ensuring that production activities run efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. This position is responsible for executing and maintaining the daily production plan, coordinating parts, documentation, and resources to ensure assets are built, tested, and delivered according to VoltaGrid’s quality and safety standards.

Working closely with the Lead Production Coordinator, as well as the engineering, procurement, and operations teams. This role will help drive workflow visibility, resolve day-to-day challenges, and maintain clear communication between all production stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute the daily production schedule, ensuring work orders are properly issued, updated, and closed in the ERP/CMMS system.
  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain to confirm material availability, track shortages, and expedite critical components as needed.
  • Maintain documentation accuracy, ensuring travelers, routing sheets, drawings, and test records are complete and up to date.
  • Support production readiness by staging materials, organizing work areas, and preparing kitting lists for upcoming builds.
  • Communicate production status and issues to the Lead Production Coordinator and relevant teams to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Monitor WIP (work-in-progress) to identify potential bottlenecks or delays and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards during all production activities.
  • Assist in reporting production KPIs, including progress tracking, rework rates, and turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with engineering to incorporate design changes or field feedback into future builds.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying areas to streamline operations or documentation.

Other Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in production coordination, scheduling, or related manufacturing/energy industry role.
  • Solid understanding of production workflows, bill of materials (BOMs), and work order management.
  • Experience with ERP or CMMS systems for tracking inventory, production status, and work orders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-focused, able to handle multiple priorities with accuracy and urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Basic familiarity with mechanical or electrical systems, particularly related to power generation or industrial equipment.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on safety, accountability, and process improvement.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting production or assembly of energy assets, power systems, or data center infrastructure.
  • Preferred: Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma principles or experience in continuous improvement environments.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of project scheduling tools (Smartsheet, MS Project) or visual management systems (Kanban).
