Summary of Duties:
As a Program Assistant in the Office of Admissions, you’ll be at the heart of helping students begin their journey at the university. You’ll support Enrollment Management and contribute to the strategic goals of both the department and the university.
In this role, you’ll manage a variety of student records, both electronic and paper-based, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality every step of the way. You’ll be the go-to person for answering questions from students, staff, and the public—providing helpful, timely, and friendly support.
You’ll also handle the mailing of important materials to prospective and current students, assist with clerical projects, and help keep our office running smoothly. With training and delegated authority, you’ll review and process undergraduate applications, making admission decisions based on academic credentials.

This position may be eligible for Remote/hybrid work and flexible/telework schedule. Upon successful completion of the employee’s 6-month probationary period and training, this position may be eligible for a hybrid telework agreement. All telework agreements are assessed and extended on a semester basis.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the admissions process.
Demonstrated proficiency with Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.
Experience with WSU Student Information System.
Experience with Slate CRM.
Experience working with student records.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:
Range 39 | $3,495 - $4,653 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
