Chronicle Books is looking for a Special Markets Sales Assistant to support the sales efforts of our Key Accounts team. This position will act as a secondary contact for all inquiries and issues arising from these accounts. Working with key accounts requires dedicated support in purchase order processing, timely completion of paperwork, coordination with operations, and providing sales materials, mailings, tracking, and other tasks.
Key Responsibilities: The Sales Assistant will manage key account purchase orders, provide assistance to key account buyers, engage in daily interactions and communication with relevant inter-company contacts, assist in preparation for sales meetings, and support new business efforts. They will also coordinate sales materials, compile and transmit title information and image files for accounts on various platforms, use Excel for sales and order tracking, attend and participate in sales and marketing meetings as required, and handle calls with accounts when necessary.
Hiring Salary Range: $22.84 - $26.26/hr. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, an applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is eligible for our profit share plan.

Schedule: Employees at Chronicle Books will follow a regular hybrid schedule in our San Francisco office of at least three (3) in-office days per week and up to five (5) in-office days per week, depending on project and business needs. Requirements
Applicants will need a minimum of two years of high-level administrative assistance experience, and publishing or gift experience will be a plus. An ability to handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously, excellent writing and communication skills, and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) are also required. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented, organized, able to prioritize tasks accordingly and maintain a “can-do” attitude, especially under deadlines.
