The Penguin Random House Special Markets division is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the Direct Market team in their sales efforts.  

 

Specific responsibilities include: 

  1. Work directly with comic creators to establish accounts 
  1. Manage all operational needs related to exclusive comic variant process  
  1. Prepares sales materials such as title collections and materials for Sales meetings 
  1. Assist with content creation and asset research for comic and specialty retail sales websites 
  1. Craft targeted pitches 
  1. Create seasonal PowerPoint presentations, and newsletters 
  1. Maintain Misc. Direct Market sales rep code 
  1. Be administrator for Direct Market and Retail inbox 
  1. Provides general administrative support for the department  
  1. Follow and track inventory for seasonal plan-o-grams 
  1. Prepare new title set up forms 
  1. Follow up on customer orders and sample requests 
  1. Capture and maintain notes on progress and upload to salesforce 
  1. Communicate with Imprint Sales Team to ensure all requisite materials are sourced for seasonal sell-in 

 

Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements: 

  • Strong interest in a sales position with a publishing company 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team 
  • Passion for Comic Books and Graphic Novels 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proactive with strong follow-up skills 
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook 
  • Experience with Mailchimp preferred but not required 

 

This NYC-based role is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities for a minimum of two days a week in the office. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA). 

 

The salary for this role is $51,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
