General Job Summary


The Senior Marketing Manager leads in planning, developing, and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that closely align with University Bank’s overall strategic objectives and growth plans. They serve as a key collaborator, working cross-functionally with various departments and subsidiary managers to ensure cohesive messaging and brand consistency across all channels. The Senior Marketing Manager will manage relationships with external marketing vendors and service providers, including overseeing the vendor selection process, the creation and delivery of both digital and print marketing campaigns, and ensuring all initiatives comply with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Senior Marketing Manager will play an integral role in driving community engagement efforts, strengthening the bank’s local presence and reputation. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of digital marketing techniques, compliance procedures specific to the financial services industry, and strong project management skills to effectively lead complex marketing projects from conception through successful execution.


Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans by collaborating with department heads and subsidiary managers to meet organizational strategic goals.
  • Design and oversee content development for social media channels, email marketing campaigns, and other digital platforms in partnership with managers across the bank.
  • Utilize the Fiserv banking core system to design, execute, and optimize online banking marketing campaigns that encourage digital adoption and enhance customer engagement.
  • Create and manage printed and digital marketing materials for the bank and its subsidiaries to promote brand awareness and support targeted marketing efforts.
  • Select, evaluate, and manage relationships with marketing vendors and service providers to ensure consistent and effective branding and promotion.
  • Maintain and update company websites using WordPress, ensuring compliance with ADA standards, and implement changes recommended through third-party platforms such as Siteimprove.
  • Track, analyze, and report on marketing campaign effectiveness using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and Siteimprove to continuously refine marketing strategies.
  • Maintain organized records and files of all advertisements and promotional materials.
  • Lead marketing initiatives related to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), including tracking donations, volunteer hours, and loans using the Kadince platform; actively promote community events to enhance the bank’s reputation and engagement.
  • Submit all marketing materials to the compliance department through the Kadince platform, working closely with compliance teams to ensure all projects are reviewed, revised if necessary, and approved prior to distribution.
  • Support event planning and execution at the Mansion and Ypsilanti branch location, working collaboratively to maximize community involvement opportunities.
  • Assist leadership in planning and managing annual marketing budgets aligned with the bank’s goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as HR, Accounting, and Information Security to develop and execute employee-facing marketing initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain the company-wide intranet to enhance internal communication and engagement within the bank.
  • Oversee the marketing database and assist in compiling files and documentation required for internal and external audits.
  • Experience managing procurement and organization of marketing collateral and branded materials such as business cards, name tags, promotional swag, and other branded merchandise to support internal and external marketing initiatives.

Requirements

Education, Training and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent prior work experience will also be considered.
  • 7+ years progressive experience in Marketing. 
  • Experience working in financial services highly preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners.
  • Proven expertise with digital marketing tools and platforms, including Fiserv core banking systems, WordPress website development and design, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and organic SEO strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting and presentations.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as experience with Canva for online design work.
  • Strong social media campaign management experience across platforms like Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp to design, send, and analyze targeted email campaigns.
  • CRM experience, specifically with HubSpot, including campaign tracking and customer segmentation.
  • Ability to write blog posts and content designed to boost organic SEO and improve website traffic.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to lead marketing projects from conception through execution.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently in order to meet multiple deadlines, with high degree of accuracy.
  • Skilled in understanding and executing instructions, highly organized, and able to work independently.

Working Environment

Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
  • Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).
