Description
As a DevOps engineer some of your duties will include providing direct support to engineering platforms and microservices used to develop critical applications to modernize how data is leveraged across multiple DoD customers. Some responsibilities will include the following:
- Developing infrastructure, task automation, provision managed services, and leveraging Python, Salt, and Cloudformation
- Patching, hardening, and maintaining compliance of RHEL based operating systems
- Install, configure, and provide performance support for Kubernetes, Docker, Nifi, and cloud metrics collection tools.
- Managing commercial cloud computing platforms (AWS).
- Administering, optimizing, and securing databases and storage systems such as: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, and/or Kafka
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders.
- Working with logging, monitoring, and observability platforms such as: Kibana and/or Prometheus
- Designing and maintaining dashboards, alerts, and metrics for proactive system health monitoring
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain CI Polygraph
- Strong PaaS experience
- Expertise Data management and storage technologies to include PostgreSQL, MySQL, Mongo, Redis, ElasticSearch and/or Kafka.
- Experience investigating and resolving complex technical issues.
- Active Security+ certification or other 8140 Compliant certifications.
- Experience with Data logging and visualization technologies such as Kibana, Grafana and Prometheus
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, and/or CloudFormation.
- Experience deploying and managing containerized applications in Kubernetes clusters using Helm, Kustomize, and/or custom manifests.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Experience using with Gitlab for code management and issue tracking
- Experience with DevOps pipeline and optimizing code.
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, and/or Bash
- Experience with Docker or other container tools.

Many factors can influence final salary including, but not limited to relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Final salary can also be influenced by a position’s geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
The salary Range for this position is: $140,000-165,000
