The Associate, Investment & Valuation will be a key member of our Investment & Valuation (I&V) team at RWE Clean Energy (RWECE), supporting the companies’ strong US growth ambitions from analysis to investment decisions. Our I&V team enables value-added growth through critical analysis and strategic guidance, while ensuring strong governance of investment decisions. The Associate will gain cross-technology experience in solar, wind, and battery storage projects, while bridging technical and financial aspects of renewable energy investments. Role Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining complex financial models for analyzing the economic viability of utility-scale wind, solar and storage projects under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Collaborate with development, commercial, technical and finance teams to gather and validate project data and insights to bridge the technical and financial aspects of renewable energy investments.
  • Support investment decision processes, preparation of papers and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors at RWECE
  • Participate in discussions with various stakeholders and senior management that shape RWE’s multi-gigawatt renewable portfolio in the US.
  • Support on identifying and implementing improvements to our investment processes and financial models, exploring the use of advanced digital tools.
  • Support internal ad-hoc projects and initiatives with direct senior management involvement


Job Requirements and Experiences:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or similar university degree or graduating between December 2025 and Spring 2026 required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Finance roles
  • Knowledge of valuation methodologies (especially DCF) and of financial modeling (Excel)
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Interest in renewable energy or energy markets
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

 

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $75,000 - $112,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
