CTG is seeking to fill a Security Consultant opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ.

 

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: Ongoing Contract

 

Duties:

  • Provide expert guidance on security architecture, governance, and compliance across applications, cloud, and data platforms.

  • Design and implement security controls and best practices to protect enterprise systems, applications, and data.

  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to integrate security into software development and deployment processes.

  • Assess security risks, perform vulnerability assessments, and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

  • Automate security processes and develop tools/scripts to streamline security monitoring and enforcement.

  • Contribute to secure design reviews, code reviews, and threat modeling.

  • Support incident response activities, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.

  • Document and communicate security requirements, policies, and procedures effectively.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and security standards.

  • Knowledge of Application Development & Security.

  • Knowledge of Data Engineering.

  • Knowledge of Cloud Security Management.

  • Knowledge of Data Privacy & Protection (DPP, GDPR).

  • Knowledge of Data Security Management.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating security tasks.

  • Knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, NoSQL, and relational databases.

  • Strong familiarity with core tools used in application planning, analysis, development, testing, and maintenance.

  • Experience in application design and software development.

  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging (Kafka, web hooks, asynchronous API design preferred).

  • Experience in object-oriented design and coding with a variety of programming languages.

  • Experience in Agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban.

  • Experience in automation testing and documentation (automated, functional, and performance).

  • Familiarity with Testing Frameworks (Unit testing, Regression Testing).

  • Experience with Java 8+, Spring Suite Framework preferred.

  • Experience with Python, Django framework preferred.

  • Experience with React JS, Node JS, Go-lang preferred.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, and cloud deployment.

Experience:

  • Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions in enterprise environments.

  • Hands-on experience in software development, cloud platforms, and security engineering.

  • Strong background in secure coding practices, DevSecOps, and automated security testing.

  • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional Agile teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field required.

  • Advanced degree preferred.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
