CTG is seeking to fill a night shift etch tool technician opening for our client in Albany, NY.

 

Location: Albany, NY
Duration: Ongoing Contract

Shift: Overnight 7p-7a (36/48 split schedule) 

 

Job Description:
We are seeking a self-motivated Etch Technician to support etch fab operations on the night shift. This role is best suited for a technician who can work independently after a training period and thrives in a semiconductor fab environment. The technician will ensure stable tool performance, address lot faults, recover failing quals, and communicate action plans across shifts to maintain smooth operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run and monitor tool qualifications to confirm stability as defined in qual plans

  • Communicate and execute recovery plans for failing quals

  • Partner with the fab Ops team to train them on etch tool usage

  • Investigate and recover faulted lots where possible, or escalate to the engineering team

Basic Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in an engineering or scientific field

  • 0–2 years of semiconductor fab experience

  • Familiarity with SiView and wSPC systems (0–2 years)

  • Ability to sustain energy and focus during 12-hour night shifts

  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and resolving issues (2 years)

Desired Skills:

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

 

 

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
