- Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, Night shifts, Holidays, and Weekends
Job Overview:
The Director of Sales at Springhill Suites Marriott Wauwatosa leads strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue and market share. This role typically follows standard weekday business hours but requires flexibility for weekends, holidays, and travel based on business needs. Candidates should have at least 4 years of hotel sales leadership experience, preferably with a degree in Business or Hospitality. Key skills include strategic planning, team leadership, client relationship management, and strong communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms is essential, along with access to internal sales systems and contract management tools. The role demands a dynamic, results-driven leader who can align sales efforts with broader marketing and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and Client Development: Actively prospect for new clients through cold calls, site tours, and participation in local tourism associations. Lead by example and motivate the sales team to do the same.
- Contract Management: Write and negotiate contracts with potential clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with the hotel's goals.
- Sales Leadership: Inspire and train Sales Managers on the direct sales process, fostering additional business and repeat bookings. Conduct regular sales audits to ensure accuracy in property management systems and sales reporting.
- Revenue Management: Assist the hotel in meeting or exceeding revenue goals across various segments, including Rooms, F&B, Meeting Room, Incremental, and RevPAR Index.
- Strategic Planning: Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and expense management to align with company expectations. Develop and monitor the ROI of sales and marketing action plans.
- Lead Generation: Serve as a lead generator to support the sales process and the development of new business opportunities.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis to determine client needs, occupancy potential, and desired rates. Utilize this data to inform sales strategies and pricing decisions.
- Meeting Participation: Lead daily stand-up meetings, weekly sales meetings, and participate in all relevant hotel meetings as directed by the General Manager.
- Program Utilization: Maximize the use of company, brand, and local CVB programs to enhance the hotel’s market position.
- Sales Activities and Promotions: Develop and implement special sales activities and promotions to drive business growth.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience required.
- Experience in Downtown Chicago sales is preferred.
- Hilton Brand experience is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to negotiate, sell, and influence clients and hotel guests.
- Advanced knowledge of sales and hospitality principles and practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience selling multiple market segments.
- Documented success in negotiating and closing business with short turn-around times.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work varying hours based on business needs.
- In-depth knowledge of the local market.
