POSITION PURPOSE:
The Sales Coordinator supports the sales team by handling customer orders, helping with daily tasks, and keeping communication running smoothly. The Sales Coordinator role is primarily focused on administrative support and operational coordination to maintain strong customer relationships and contribute to meeting sales goals. This role is considered entry-level within our internal career framework and is ideal for those looking to build foundational experience in the boxed beef sales industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage sales activities for an assigned account list, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Serve as a vacation relief and first point of contact for orders, calls, emails, and messages when sales representatives are unavailable.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper entry into the system and timely fulfillment.
- Collaborate with the team to support the achievement of sales goals and business growth.
- Field customer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate team member or department.
- Partner with teammates to identify opportunities in target markets and increase revenue.
- Share market information and insights to ensure the company remains competitive.
- Foster and maintain strong, positive relationships with both customers and teammates.
- Demonstrate consistent, punctual attendance and maintain a positive attendance record.
- Recommend and assist in implementing processes and system improvements.
- Analyze sales data and market trends, using data-driven insights to optimize customer engagement and maximize revenue growth.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
- Willingness to learn, able to take criticism and be self-critical
- Ability to work with a high degree of self-discipline and without immediate supervision
- Ability to perform in pressure situations, while maintaining composure
- Must be an enthusiastic and aggressive team player
- Able to speak comfortably and articulately over the telephone
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
- Show capacity for multi-tasking and working with a variety of people
- Possess strong computer skills with experience with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Account sales experience, specifically in beef sales, is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
