Reports to: Professional Development Manager 

Job Type: Full Time, Hybrid Position, Non-exempt

Job Location: Kedzie Location & Travel to Training Sites throughout Chicago.

Salary Range: $38,000 - $42,000

Position Description – What the Role Entails:

The Training and Education Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Education Department, Professional Development, and Community Education Teams in developing, coordinating, and tracking, various learning and training initiatives and events throughout the organization.

Areas of Accountability - What you will be doing:

  • Interacting effectively with a diverse group of staff, community members, and students of NHSC
  • Handling information with discretion and understands confidentiality
  • Establishing and maintaining communications/relationships with our internal/external partners, Mental Health Ambassadors, and community organizations through events, outreach, and networking.
  • Overseeing coordination of training, workshops, professional development or other learning initiatives and logistics, including but not limited to scheduling and booking locations, set up and take down, sharing invitations, recording attendance, sharing and collecting evaluations or surveys, following up with and sharing resources with participants, etc.
  • Manage MHFA training logistics through the MHFA Connect portal, including scheduling sessions, enrolling participants, and monitoring completion records.
  • Coordinate the Professional Development, Community Education, and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training schedules with instructors
  • Ensure that the department & instructors have the necessary supplies to provide training monthly (inventory tracking and purchasing)
  • Distributes pre/post learning communications, information, resources, and materials to participants
  • Assists participants with any pre/post learning questions, surveys, enrollment paperwork, or concerns regarding training or learning initiatives.
  • Maintains Training forms, data records, Registrations, and Attendance.
  • Maintains Inventory Logs/Descriptions, and LMS Training Tracks, updating as needed.
  • Assists in Grant/Program Reporting as needed.
  • Works with the Professional Development Manager & Director of Education to ensure that the policies and procedures of the programs are being adhered to
  • Collaborates with the Professional Development/Community Education Team, NHSC Team & other programs across Rincon Family Services
  • Other duties as assigned.

Rincon’s Work Environment – What to expect:

The Training and Education Coordinator must be able to successfully perform essential functions of this job including travel for networking, conferences, site visits; extensive continuous computer screen time and occasional carrying of objects up to 20lbs. Schedule:

  • 35-hour work week (7 Hours/Day with unpaid lunch). Typically, 9-5 hybrid schedule although there may be some flexibility, occasional evenings and adapting to learner needs.

Requirements

The Knowledge and Expertise that Matters Most - What you bring to the Role:

  • Knowledge of cultural humility and sensitivity, community and social service agencies
  • Initiative, strategic, and efficient long-term thinking.
  • Fast, accurate reporting, documentation and organization skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills - Ability to tailor communications and work effectively with diverse groups of staff, community members, students – adult and early career, instructors, and organization leadership.
  • Basic Competence in Microsoft Office 365 suite, especially Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Planner, Forms, OneDrive, Outlook and Zoom,
  • Advanced Competence of Microsoft Teams, Excel, Forms, Power Automate, and Outlook Preferred, especially in combination of integrated internal processes
  • Desire to learn new skills and tools for efficiency.

Position Qualifications – What is required to Perform the Role:

  • Bachelors in related field preferred
  • Mental Health First Aid + Coordinator Certification (or willing to become certified)
  • Must be highly motivated, analytical, self-starter, creative and detail oriented.
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups of students, staff, and communities.
  • Access to reliable vehicle transportation
