Role Description
Your Role:
The Associate Director, Key Accounts is a critical position within the pharmaceutical industry, responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with diverse, high-value accounts that significantly impact product access, utilization, and revenue generation.
This role requires a deep understanding of the unique needs and decision-making processes of Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Private Equity firms investing in healthcare, large group physician practices, Payers (Managed Care Organizations), and other entities of value. The AD, KA will develop and execute strategic account plans to maximize market penetration, drive sales growth, and ensure customer satisfaction across these varied segments.
Your Responsibilities:

Build and foster strong, long-term, and trusting relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within targeted accounts.

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely solutions.

Develop and execute comprehensive strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and maximize growth within targeted accounts.

Identify and prioritize opportunities for account growth, cross-selling, and upselling within the assigned portfolio.

Assess information related to economics, inventory management, reimbursement, and procurement strategies to inform account planning.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the US healthcare reimbursement landscape, including pricing strategies, formulary dynamics, and access pathways.

Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including sales leadership, marketing, field reimbursement, medical affairs, and legal, to align strategies and ensure seamless client and patient support.

Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced members of the sales, training, distribution, finance, & all matrix team members, if applicable.

Operating in full compliance with all applicable regulations and professional standards.
Your Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, business, pharmacy, health economics); advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, etc.) preferred.

5+ years in key account management or market access within pharma, biotech, or healthcare; experience in therapeutic areas like dermatology or rare diseases preferred.

Proven success managing complex accounts and meeting KPIs; experience launching products across segments (e.g., IDNs, Private Equity, Buy & Bill) preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in C-suite selling preferred.

Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to interpret data and develop account plans; familiarity with HEOR and value-based contracting preferred.

Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60–80%); experience with reimbursement issues preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $255,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
