Airgas is Hiring for a remote based Senior Sales and Business Developer!


The Senior Sales and Business Developer, reporting to Ulspira Sales Director, is responsible for the prospection and business development of new business opportunities, managing the sales cycle for implementation, including, but not limited to, strategy, proposals and commercial strategies for Ulspira (inhaled Nitric Oxide) product line. This position will drive the company’s achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals. This role is remote and based in the United States. The position requires easy access to a major airport and/or major metropolitan center.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target potential clients through market research, networking, and cold outreach.
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate new leads and build a pipeline of opportunities.

  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase value and address client needs.

  • Negotiate contracts and close deals, ensuring favorable terms for both the company and the client.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Product Development) to align strategies and maximize results.

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with new clients to ensure successful onboarding and potential for future growth.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and key metrics.

  • Ensure Group Purchasing Organization relationships are in place to execute deals with prospects.

  • Establish best practices for agreements and work with the Airgas regional organizations to expand opportunities.

  • Manage overall sales process execution and set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management.

  • Establish and maintain key customer relationships, especially with identified national accounts.

  • Develop and implement strategies to continuously expand the geographic offer and drive hospital adoption and expansion.

  • Work closely with the senior leaders to develop appropriate commercial and product roadmaps, competitive knowledge and positioning, corporate strategies, and other initiatives to achieve outstanding market success

  • Work closely with senior management to align priorities and create a sense of urgency to ensure successful endpoints are achieved and timelines are met.

  • Complete all training activities successfully and on time.

  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment.

Are you a MATCH?

Qualifications:

  • Availability to travel to be greater than 50%, primarily domestically.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive sales experience in the medical device/pharmaceutical industries with mandatory background on inhaled nitric oxide industry

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales leadership experience with a demonstrated history of achieving revenue plans and leading sales teams preferred.

  • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively without supervision. 

  • Annual Immunizations such as TB screening, MMR, Hepatitis, Flu Shot and other standard immunizations  are client requirements 

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages  

  • Strong leadership focus


 

Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.

  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities.

  • Demonstrated initiative, persistence, and ability to overcome rejection.

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing data-driven decision making.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a pipeline effectively.

  • Proficiency in CRM and sales tools.

  • Strong background in proactive agreement negotiation while working with a corporate legal team.

  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level hospital customers and partners.

  • Proven product launch and sales track record in a novel organizational business.

  • Established contacts and relationships with potential customers (hospitals)

  • Understand and show competency in mitigating risks in all aspects while in a leadership role, especially related to promotional and regulatory compliance for pharmaceutical and medical device products. 

  • Have a demonstrated ability to work with, hold accountable and motivate a highly experienced and capable sales team to achieve desired goals.

  • Have proven negotiation skills to maximize value in negotiating with partners.

  • Reputation as a sales leader with high integrity, sound character, a tremendous work ethic and the passion to succeed.

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Life Sciences is required. MBA or advanced degree is desirable. RRT or related respiratory/acute care experience is highly preferred.
