Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled Node.js Testing Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. The role is pivotal in ensuring the quality, performance, and security of scalable, high-availability systems built using Node.js and related technologies. As a key contributor, you will collaborate across multiple teams to develop and maintain robust testing frameworks, optimize system performance, and support continuous integration and delivery initiatives. Your expertise will help deliver reliable solutions aligned with our business objectives and industry standards.
Software Requirements
Required:
Node.js (v14+)
JavaScript (ES6+)
TypeScript (≥1 year hands-on experience)
Database Systems: SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent)
Containerization: Docker
Orchestration: Kubernetes
API Gateways: 3Scale or similar
Message Queues & Cloud Messaging: Kafka, AWS SQS, Microsoft Azure Service Bus, Pushpin
Version Control: Git
Preferred:
GraphQL APIs development and testing
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP
Security protocols (OAuth, JWT, SSO integrations)
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive testing strategies for Node.js applications, with a focus on API performance, security, and reliability.
Optimize application performance through tuning, debugging, and monitoring.
Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment processes.
Contribute to the architecture review process, ensuring security, scalability, and high availability standards.
Implement and improve automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery cycles.
Analyze and troubleshoot issues in distributed service ecosystems, providing actionable resolutions.
Promote best practices in coding, security, testing, and documentation across projects.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, benchmarking against best-in-class standards.
Technical Skills
Programming Languages:
Required: Node.js, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript (hands-on experience of ≥1 year)
Preferred: Experience with additional languages such as Python or Java for integration scenarios
Databases and Data Management:
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB)
Cloud and Infrastructure Technologies:
Hands-on experience with cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP
Proficiency with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Frameworks, Libraries, and Protocols:
Developing scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js frameworks (Express.js, Hapi.js)
Practical experience with GraphQL APIs
Familiarity with API gateways (e.g., 3Scale, Kong)
Integration of token-based authentication systems (OAuth, JWT, SSO)
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Version control systems, preferably Git
CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI
Monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
Security & Compliance:
Implementation of secure coding practices and adherence to industry standards
Experience with security protocols like OAuth, JWT, and Single Sign-On mechanisms
Message Queues and Messaging Systems:
Deep understanding of asynchronous messaging systems including Kafka, AWS SQS, Pushpin, or equivalent
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience developing with Node.js, JavaScript, and databases
At least 1 year of practical experience working with TypeScript in a production environment
Proven track record in performance tuning, debugging, and system monitoring in distributed architectures
Domain experience in banking, financial services, or fintech industries preferred
Demonstrated experience with cloud-based infrastructure and container orchestration
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative software development processes
Exposure to enterprise-level API integration, security standards, and microservices architecture
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and maintain automated tests to validate API functionality, performance, and security
Debug and troubleshoot issues in distributed systems and microservices landscapes
Collaborate with development teams on code reviews, architectural discussions, and best practice implementation
Monitor application performance, respond to incidents, and perform root cause analysis
Participate in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and review meetings
Drive improvements in testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies
Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and deployment guides
Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of new tools, frameworks, and industry trends
Qualifications
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Certifications (Preferred):
AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Developer
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification
Training & Development:
