As the Operations Manager for Fluke Health Solutions, you will lead a team of associates to develop a future-state vision for our multi-functional manufacturing and laboratory operations. You will oversee the operations of our LANDAUER dosimeter manufacturing, analysis laboratory, and Fluke Biomedical and RaySafe global service center during the second shift. The successful candidate will ensure efficient and safe operations, manage staff, and maintain high standards of quality and compliance while being an engine for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the charge in achieving impactful results while prioritizing the safety of our associates, maintaining product and service quality, and ensuring on-time delivery with optimal cost and inventory management
- Be a change agent in Daily Management to drive results through Safety, Quality, Deliver, Inventory and Productivity
- Utilize Gemba techniques to foster and extend our Continuous Improvement (Fortive Business System) and Lean Culture
- Provide leadership for planning and scheduling to support accurate and timely receipts, shipments, and overall material management
- Coordinate seamless New Product Introductions (NPI) and product transitions from engineering to manufacturing, ensuring post-launch success through effective process management and metric analysis
- Drive and manage capital, fixed, and variable budgets for manufacturing sites, offering comprehensive variance reporting, absorption accounting analysis, forecasting, and necessary corrective actions.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team through effective communication, both upstream and downstream.
- Collaborate with HR on organizational and talent development, talent risk management, and succession planning initiatives.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure alignment with improvement projects and key performance indicators, maintaining a consistent focus on progress and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of progressive operations and cross-functional management experience.
- Bachelor of Science Degree, preferably in engineering or a technical field
- Proficiency in digital tools including Microsoft Office products (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex operational issues efficiently and effectively
- Experience navigating and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to support customer and supplier visits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
Desired Attributes:
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles with tangible results.
- Previous roles encompassing manufacturing engineering, production operations, and/or various materials management responsibilities.
- Strong data analysis skills including PowerBI, SQL, etc.
- Prior experience managing a second or off-shift team
- Prior ISO/IEC 17025 Calibration/Testing Laboratory experience
- Prior experience in leading teams through audits or regulatory inspections
Working Hours:
- Second shift hours typically from 230PM to 11PM, Monday to Friday.
- Able to flex to 1st shift operations as needed, including providing coverage for the 1st shift manager or attending cross-functional workshops and training (up to 10% of the time).
- Must be available to support and lead weekend operations as scheduled
