Position Overview:
The Director of Therapeutic Foster Boarding Home is the lead position of the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Home Program. The TFBH (Therapeutic Foster Boarding Homes) director will be involved with the overall management and success of the TFBH program, which will include home finding, assistance with marketing, case management, training, crisis intervention, and interfacing with our funders. The TFBH director will supervise the Home Finder Supervisor/Home Finders and TFBH Supervisor.
The TFBH director will provide clinical support to the team and the families we serve.
Position Qualifications:
Candidate must have a License Master’s Degree in Social Work and have at least 3 years working with at- risk youth that are or were in the child welfare system. Must have experience with the child welfare system in the areas of navigating the educational, employment, and housing systems in Westchester County. Trained and fluent in the use of the Connection system. Demonstrate initiative and creativity, particularly with adolescents. Demonstrate experience in group work and clinical skills. Must have basic understanding and computer literacy skills with Microsoft office such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Willingness to build on leadership skills. Must be very organized and be able to multi-task. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of culture, race and issues facing adolescents of color. Demonstrate ability to effectively use a multi-cultural approach in working with special needs youth. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel and use own vehicle for meetings, court, and home visits as needed. Ability to work as a team member and independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with youth, families, and staff. Excellent oral communication skills.
