Role Overview

The Director of Talent will be responsible for developing and executing Athena’s talent acquisition strategy to attract, recruit, and hire top talent across all levels of the tech organization, with a primary focus on engineering, AI, product and design departments. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to manage and grow our recruiting team while ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Talent Acquisition Strategies: Create and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy that aligns with the company’s goals, focusing on scaling the tech organization and other critical functions.
  • Lead and Manage Recruiting Teams: Oversee and mentor a team of recruiters, sourcers, and talent coordinators. Set performance goals, provide ongoing coaching, and foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Partner with the CTO to understand hiring needs, define job requirements, and develop sourcing strategies to meet these needs effectively.
  • Optimize Recruiting Processes: Continuously improve recruiting processes, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices for candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize recruiting metrics and analytics to track progress, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve the recruitment process and outcomes.
  • Branding: Collaborate with the marketing and HR teams to strengthen the company’s employer brand. Ensure a positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in talent acquisition, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing recruiting teams for various technical roles in software engineering, data science, AI, product management, design and infosec.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute a strategic talent acquisition plan that aligns with business goals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build strong relationships with executives, hiring managers, and candidates.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in using data and metrics to drive decisions and improve processes.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
