JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector plays a vital role in supporting QA Technicians by ensuring the integrity of documentation and sample management across various quality systems. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from suppliers, collecting raw material samples for inspection prior to production release, and managing retain samples of finished products. Key responsibilities include assisting the Quality Control (QC) laboratory with inspections, collecting environmental data, and conducting routine site visits to retrieve requested samples and pull solution. The QA Inspector also performs annual inspections of retain samples for all regulated products and is authorized to conduct swab sampling when QA Technicians are on call.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Collect, deliver, and test incoming raw material samples, including tailgate samples, prior to production release.
- Record and inventory Chem Mix batch samples as required.
- Maintain accurate disposition records for raw materials through the destroyer process.
- Monitor and manage retain samples of production solutions to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Retrieve, track, and file Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from suppliers.
- Proactively contact suppliers to obtain missing or incomplete documentation.
- Log sample delivery times and communicate with the QC Lab to coordinate testing schedules.
- Conduct routine cGMP audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Assist QA Technicians with swab sampling for microbiological testing on process equipment.
- Support the QC Lab with inspections as needed, based on production demands.
- Perform annual inspections of drug retain samples in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate with QA personnel regarding product holds and releases.
- Monitor and maintain the QA hold area to ensure proper segregation and documentation.
- Provide cross-functional support to other QA departments as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential accountabilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
- High school diploma or GED required, plus a minimum of one year of experience in a Quality, Laboratory, or Manufacturing position.
- Ability to demonstrate basic math skills.
- Proficiency in using quality control tools and measuring equipment.
- Attention to detail to have the ability to identify product defects.
- Ability to read and understand procedures and raw material and product specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Previous forklift experience preferred; willingness and ability to learn forklift operation required
