We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Human Resource Generalist - 12 Month Term to deliver a wide range of HR services to the employees and management team. This includes: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance and employee engagement. This position requires well-rounded knowledge as an HR generalist, familiar with every discipline within HR to formulate workforce strategies that meet organizational goals and develop solutions on employment-related issues. The HR Generalist also provides day-to-day employee assistance.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, inclusive team aimed at shaping the future of HR at StandardAero. The Human Resources Generalist will be working in a team that supports 500+ employees. The position will work closely with other key groups in the Human Resources organization and specialized HR Services groups to deliver high quality, seamlessly integrated operational HR support for the business, the employees and managers. The majority of support to the business will be on site with our leaders and teams at our facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
What you’ll do:
Responsible for partnering and facilitating all HR services
Function as a true business partner to provide clients with advice on key business objectives and execute on those strategies to solve business challenges.
Partner with our Talent Acquisition team to support recruitment including job postings, interviewing, selection and onboarding. Support career fairs and recruitment branding opportunities.
Consult to clients in key areas include employee relations, employee engagement, coaching, workforce planning, HR training, and performance management.
Consult with client groups on application/interpretation of statutory regulations, HR policies, procedures, payroll & benefits, performance issues, transfer, terminations and promotions and employee problem resolution
Work with the business unit to deliver and facilitate developmental opportunities for client groups, which may include performance management, succession/workforce planning, compensation/benefits, organization/team development, and change management.
Monitor employee climate to identify issues/trends and develop recommendations for problem solving with business units as appropriate. Develop solutions to implement with the business.
Ensure compliance with established internal HR policies and procedures and regulatory requirements and conduct periodic audits, as needed/required.
Manage specific projects as determined by the HR Senior Leadership Team and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives.
Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices, continued business acumen and key trends.
Provide coaching, counseling and serves as an advisor to management on various employee relations issues of a more complex nature.
What skills you will use:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a field related to Human Resources.
- CPHR certified or CPHR Candidate or working towards same.
- 2+ years of experience in an HR generalist or coordinator role, preferably in Canada.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm during high volume periods
- Strong knowledge of the Canada Labor Code.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
- Creative out-of-the box thinker
- Positive professional presence, strong planning and organizational skills
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic industry is highly desirable
Proficient with HRIS systems and Microsoft office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
