Job Summary: The Maintenance & Mechanic Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining?the successful operations of Memorial Park Conservancy’s (MPC)?fleet of equipment and park facilities. The Maintenance & Mechanic Operations Coordinator reports to the Park Operations Supervisor. The Mechanic & Maintenance Operations Coordinator will work with a team of technicians and contractors to perform or procure repairs and preventative maintenance on MPC’s fleet of equipment and facilities throughout the park, including restrooms, water fountains, and picnic tables. 

Base Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am- 2:30pm but must be available to work some weekends.


Responsibilities and Duties Include:

· Lead a team of staff daily to coordinate and/or preform repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment, park amenities, and facilities. 

· Schedule and perform preventative maintenance to engines and component assemblies used in automotive and equipment powered by internal combustion engines, motors, small power equipment, electric and battery powered equipment, and hydraulics. 

· Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on park amenities and facilities including restrooms, water fountains, picnic tables, office spaces, lighting, and others.

· Ability to operate all MPC small and large equipment.

· Identify, coordinate and complete parkwide repairs using MPC’s asset management software.

· Maintain a variety of records, including information, maintenance, repair, and inspection records and inventories of parts, components, supplies and materials that influence the Park Operations expenses.   

· Maintain shop area in a safe and orderly manner according to MPC workplace safety standards and ensure cleanliness of office and storage spaces.  

· Ensure that safety and compliance components such as fire extinguishers and insurance are in and up to date in all vehicles.  

· Procure and if necessary, coordinate delivery and pick up for all MPC equipment and supplies.

· Demonstrate ownership of assigned work by upholding and maintaining standards to the highest degree. 

· Enforce MPC rules, safety policies, and procedures, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct and document safety training as needed and ensure compliance with safety protocol. 

· Accurately manage employee schedules to accommodate organization programs.

· Communicate employee observations to Supervisor for recognition or disciplinary action.

· Work collaboratively and creatively with Park Operations leadership in a team-first environment. 

· Interact with Park patrons in a courteous and professional manner. Ensure team members are trained and adhering accordingly. Be prepared to provide accurate and pertinent information regarding MPC and the Park. 

· Communicate issues regarding infrastructure, furnishings, safety hazards, quality of the Park user experience issues as needed

· Assist with other Park Operations teams as needed.   


Requirements

    

Minimum Requirements:

· 3 years minimum experience in mechanic and maintenance operations at a park or similar entity. 

· 3 years minimum experience managing projects and crews. 

· Working knowledge of plumbing, electric, carpentry, HVAC, painting, and mechanical equipment.

· Strong communications skills; highly motivated; ability to work independently but also collaboratively. 

· Proficiency in PC based Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 

· Experience with asset management systems a plus, must be comfortable learning new software.

· Exceptional time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  

· Ability to work a varied schedule including occasional weekends, holidays, and evenings.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license. 


Abilities Required:

· Ability to perform heavy, physical labor daily in all weather conditions.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to prioritize work functions and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly, throughout a given workday.

· Ability to operate power equipment throughout a workday.

· Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to use ladders and perform various types of manual labor throughout the day.

Compensation:  

This is an hourly non-exempt position; range is $19-22 per hour. Benefits include full medical, dental, and vision benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability and 401k retirement plan.
