General Summary: A nonexempt position responsible for total corporate office maintenance at our company premises. Travel between office locations required. 


Essential Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Communicate      with Sr. Manager of Facilities and Administrative Services about daily      tasks and needs.
  2. Troubleshoot      and diagnose various systems throughout the organization including but not      limited to computer, networking, card access, preventative maintenance,      and inventory tracking systems.
  3. Perform      maintenance and light repairs (repairing door hardware, installing shelves,      installing equipment for workstations, mounting various types of clinical      and office equipment). 
  4. Perform      minor plumbing maintenance, including the replacement or repair of leaks      in faucets, replacement of toilet components, mitigation of damage due to      leaks.
  5. Basic      electrical work, including replacing incandescent bulbs, fluorescent bulbs,      tubes, and ballasts, diagnosing defective circuits, identifying defective      switches and outlets, including interpreting and application of wiring      diagrams.
  6. Perform      wall repairs, painting, and carpentry. 
  7. Dismantle,      install, reconfigure, and move furniture.
  8. Transport      goods, tools, supplies or equipment to multiple office locations.
  9. Regularly      scheduled travel between all offices for assessment, support, assistance,      and repair of facilities ticket items
  10. Identify      and report the need for major repairs.
  11. Other      duties as assigned. 

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, and VOIP telephone systems. Hand and powers tools, including drills, levels, hammers, ladders, etc.


Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Frequent travel between locations. Occasional evening or weekend work.

Requirements

  

Education: High school diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred.


Experience: 2 years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, or electrical systems and processes. 2 years of experience working with technology including but not limited to spreadsheets and database software, networking equipment, corporate office equipment, and remote and mobile workstation equipment. 2 years of experience with safe installation and handling practices of furniture, wall mounted equipment, and other suspended items.


Other Requirements: Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License and a reliable, insured vehicle. 


Performance Requirements:

Knowledge: 

1. Knowledge of carpentry and general facility repairs

2. Knowledge of safety practices to provide a safe work environment

3. Knowledge of Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook

4. Knowledge of network-based systems including Avaya IPO, VMWare, Door Access Controls, and Intranet services

Skills: 

  1. Skills in      exercising independent judgment. 
  2. Skills in      establishing and maintaining working relationships with staff and vendors.

Abilities: 

  1. Ability to      problem-solve.
  2. Ability to      work effectively with vendors and staff.
  3. Ability to      communicate clearly and effectively.
  4. Ability to use      standard powered and non-powered tools.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing and walking; repeated bending, squatting, stooping, climbing ladders. Maybe be exposed to hazards from use of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and power equipment. Occasionally must lift up to 70 pounds.
