Job OverviewWe are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Site Coordinator to become a vital member of our passionate team dedicated to supporting academically low-performing students in grades Pre-K through 5th within the vibrant community of Portland, Maine. Our innovative program focuses on hands-on engineering design challenges that integrate literacy, mathematics, and social-emotional learning, equipping students with essential skills for their academic journey and future endeavors, including confidence, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and resilience.Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program directors and school personnel to optimize the enrollment and registration processes for students.
  • Oversee the daily implementation of the in-person STEAM curriculum and related enrichment activities while receiving guidance from site directors.
  • Act as the primary liaison for parents, volunteers, and school staff concerning student enrollment, schedules, participation, behavior, and progress, while enhancing program visibility and organizing family engagement events.
  • Ensure a safe, structured learning environment that promotes emotional well-being for both students and staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging and modeling healthy lifestyle choices while addressing behavioral challenges.
  • Employ effective strategies to maintain student attendance and reach enrollment goals.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, meal counts, program activities, and other relevant data as requested by the program director.
  • Collaborate with program directors to create enrichment activities, structure schedules, and develop curriculum content.
  • Supervise a small team of educators, teaching assistants, and volunteers, promoting teamwork and transparent communication.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to assess program needs, reflect on practices, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from students, families, and team members during the program, ensuring continuous communication.
  • Assist in the planning and executing of family and community events, presentations, and guest activities.
  • Uphold professionalism at all times, adhering to program expectations and online safety guidelines.
Required Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Google Drive Suite, Zoom, and other relevant platforms
  • Flexibility, creativity, and adept problem-solving skills
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment
Qualifications
  • Valid State of Maine Teaching Certification
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational context
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
