Your mission should you choose to accept it.

As an SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) at ScalePad, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software systems. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams, leveraging your expertise in automation, monitoring, and incident response to drive continuous improvement and minimize system downtime.

Responsibilities.

  • Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with development teams to understand their infrastructure needs, and engage in pair programming sessions to ensure alignment with SRE principles.
  • Utilize SRE Tools: Leverage expertise in SRE tools to optimize system reliability, including but not limited to Kubernetes, containers, Terraform, and GitOps practices.
  • Cloud Management: Manage cloud environments, with a focus on AWS, and contribute to efforts related to Azure, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of resources.
  • Automate Routine Tasks: Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline routine tasks and processes, reducing manual effort (toil) and enabling the team to prioritize higher-value activities.
  • Continuous Learning and Improvement: Demonstrate insatiable curiosity and a passion for learning, actively seeking out new ideas and approaches to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve deployment processes, incident response procedures, and overall system reliability, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Scalable Infrastructure Design: Design and implement scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions to support the growing customer base, ensuring high availability and performance of ScalePad products.
  • Alert Management Overhaul: Lead efforts in overhauling alert management in Grafana and defining proper metrics in Prometheus, contributing to enhanced monitoring and proactive issue resolution.
  • Infrastructure as Code Implementation: Participate in automating Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) using infrastructure as code principles for tools like Grafana, Google Workspace, etc., collaborating closely with internal IT to streamline workflows.
  • Onboarding and Knowledge Acquisition: Undergo paired onboarding with platform team members, rapidly assimilate knowledge about current initiatives and operational workflows, and familiarize oneself with ScalePad's product portfolio and underlying technology architecture.

Qualifications.

  • 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineer experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with development teams, engaging in pair programming sessions to understand and address their infrastructure requirements
  • Mastery of SRE tools
    • Kubernetes
    • Containers
    • Terraform
    • GitOps
    • Grafana stack is a plus
  • Cloud Experience
    • AWS
    • Azure is a plus
