PURVIS Systems is a technology solutions partner that develops, implements and maintains mission-critical solutions for federal and local governments. 

PURVIS is seeing an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations by ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial records, policies and practices, supervising accounting staff, and supporting corporate decision making in line with corporate goals and strategy.  This role will require strong communication and interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles. This position will report to the Controller.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations
  • Own the monthly close process and delegate tasks accordingly
  • Oversee monthly journal entries and reconciliations
  • Oversee fixed assets and monthly depreciation
  • Work with Division Business Controllers on automating financial reporting/dashboards
  • Work with external auditors on the financial audit
  • Own monthly inventory JEs
  • Assist in development of AI in AP data entry, AR aging notifications, Invoice workflow, etc
  • Oversee the corporate travel and expense program, policies and procedures
  • Own the corporate credit card program
  • Manage cash flow
  • Oversee banking activities and controls
  • Focus on implementing accounting policies and procedures
  • Supervise and review work done by accounting staff
  • Oversee the ADP GL interface
  • Oversee state compliance, business license and sales tax filings

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.  Candidate must have 7-10 years of Accounting experience.

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Strong ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Team player with strong initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of Deltek CostPoint is a plus
