Description
The Project Analyst is directly responsible for business analysis of current state processes and systems for the project. Specific job tasks include comprehensive documentation of data analysis and reporting processes and associated tools and technologies. Additionally, the Project Analyst participates in business planning, needs analysis, and business risk assessment, and consults with the customer on how to best support their business goals.
Requirements
- Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and requirements in order to deliver analysis and reports as needed
- Establishes effective working relationship with client
- Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis
- Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs
- Clearly articulates ideas and thoughts verbally
- Accurately prepares written business correspondence (to include presentations) that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, and professional
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience
Field Experience:
- At least 2 years of client interface experience required (ex: technical sales, consulting, product management, client management, or business development)
Position Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a position requiring data or business analysis.
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing reports from data sources.
Required Skills:
- Must have high proficiency in creating meaningful reporting data as well as documenting business requirements to support the same.
- Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
- Beginner to Intermediate SQL skills, should be able to build and/or existing modify queries.
- Ability to create reports on Power BI (Preferred, but not required. If not, already possess should be willing to learn).Effective analytic and problem-solving skills
- Creative and innovative
- Must have excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Able to effectively communicate high-level concepts and low-level details
- Able to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
