POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler with a strong construction management background to join our project controls team. This individual will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent project schedules and Schedules of Values (SOVs), supporting field operations, and providing critical time impact and what-if analyses across a portfolio of complex construction projects. The ideal candidate brings a dual background as both a scheduler and a Project Manager or Superintendent, with demonstrated expertise in federal government construction.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedule Development & Management

•      Develop, maintain, and update detailed CPM schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project across multiple concurrent projects

•      Create and manage cost-loaded schedules and Schedules of Values (SOVs), including baseline establishment and progress tracking

•      Perform schedule updates, variance analysis, and earned value reporting on a regular cadence

•      Conduct time impact analyses (TIAs) and what-if scenario modeling to evaluate potential schedule impacts from changes, delays, or unforeseen conditions

•      Establish and maintain project baselines; manage baseline change control process

Field Coordination & Construction Management Support

•      Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules in coordination with field superintendents and subcontractors

•      Facilitate weekly subcontractor coordination meetings

•      Understand and apply construction sequencing logic, particularly for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), civil and architectural systems

•      Coordinate scheduling inputs with subcontractors, clients, and project management teams

•      Support project teams in identifying and mitigating schedule risks, float consumption, and critical path impacts

Reporting & Communication

•      Prepare and present schedule narrative reports and schedule status updates for owners, clients, and senior management

•      Communicate schedule impacts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

•      Maintain schedule documentation in compliance with federal government contract requirements where applicable

•      Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to collect progress data and integrate into master project schedules

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

•      Minimum 5–10 years of progressive experience in construction scheduling and management

•      3–5 years of hands-on experience using Primavera P6 as a primary scheduling tool

•      Demonstrated experience managing multiple project schedules simultaneously

•      Experience with Schedule of Values (SOV) development, cost loading, and earned value management

•      Proven track record performing time impact analyses, delay claims support, and what-if scenario modeling

Technical Skills

•      Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required)

•      Proficiency in Microsoft Project (required)

•      Strong understanding of CPM scheduling methodology, earned value management, and schedule risk analysis

•      Working knowledge of MEP systems sequencing, architectural finishes sequencing, and general construction workflows

•      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Construction Management Knowledge

•      Thorough understanding of construction project management principles, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality management

•      Experience facilitating subcontractor coordination meetings and developing 3-week look-ahead schedules

•      Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents

•      Familiarity with RFI, submittal, and change order processes and their schedule implications

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•      Federal government construction experience — familiarity with USACE, GSA, VA, DoD, or similar agency project requirements strongly preferred

•      Experience with government contract scheduling specifications (e.g., USACE scheduling specifications, ER 1-1-11)

•      Dual background as both a practicing scheduler AND a Project Manager or Superintendent

•      Experience with delay and disruption claims analysis

•      Professional certifications such as PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional), AACE PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), or PMP

 

EDUCATION

•      Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred

•      Equivalent combination of education and demonstrated field experience also acceptable.

•      Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in schedule data and reporting

•      Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
