The Applications Analyst is responsible for coordinating activities between departments and Information Systems to assist in the design, development, maintenance and training for assigned applications.

What you will do:

• Supports the Director of Information Systems to ensure user needs, information services and support met in assigned areas.
• Responsible for application and dictionary support and maintenance.
• Possesses expert knowledge of the hospital’s computer systems in the areas of responsibility and general knowledge of assigned application’s interrelationships with other segments of the system.
• Responsible for improvements, enhancements and modifications of application software to ensure flexibility, reliability and adherence to strategic planning guidelines and standards.
• Responsible for providing necessary resources to satisfy user needs based on established user project plans by:
• Assisting department directors in identifying departmental information requirements.
• Serves as a liaison between departments and Information Systems staff.
• Coordinates application testing.
• Coordinates development of documentation policies and procedures surrounding computer systems.
• Works with key stakeholders, end users and team members, identifies and resolves issues throughout phases of assessment, design, build, testing, training and implementation.
• Coordinates Ring Release and Service Release testing of assigned applications and dictionaries.
• Utilizes the knowledge and skills to determine functions that are suitable for computer application, while continually monitoring and evaluating opportunities for technological enhancements.
• Chairs or participates on committees as requested.
• Must have demonstrated ability to interact positively with Administration, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors.
• Must meet regular attendance standard and must stay at or below average sick leave utilization levels.

What you will bring:

• Possess strong working knowledge of Meditech Report Writer, Customer Designed Screen and Rules logic.
• Able to understand application principles, including system design, specifications, interfacing to host computers, addition of software, and programming for implementation in the healthcare technology field.
• Must be familiar with HL7 interfacing structure and protocols.
• Must be familiar with Medical Nomenclature such as CPT, ICD, LOINC, NDC and SNOMED codes.
• Proven project management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and follow-through attitude.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to flourish in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Ability to recognize individual needs of others and can scope work and training to meet their ability.
• May provide leadership and/or direction to lower-level employees.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.

 Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of related experience. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience working with MediTech strongly preferred.
• Experience as a member of an EHR implementation team having participated in the implementation of at least one healthcare related application required.
• Possess a strong understanding of, and experience in, information systems design, integration and functionality.

Location: Anacortes, WA, Onsite
Schedule: Full Time / 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $37.48 – $56.23 per hour
