Summary: 
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Purchasing and Inventory Specialist will be responsible for the procurement and inventory management of GSSC’s Electronic Protection Group (EPG). This position is responsible for ensuring that materials are available and on hand when needed for projects and service calls.

  • Purchasesdirect and indirect goods, equipment, and supplieswhile ensuringadequate lead times to meet project deadlines.
  • Createsandissuespurchaseorders tosuppliersandmaintainsappropriate documentation.
  • Tracksorders and keeps theservice andinstallteamsinformedof any delays.
  • Expeditesequipment when necessaryto meet critical project needs.
  • Negotiateswith vendors for bestpricing and terms.
  • Resolvesissues related to delivery dates, quality, quantity, or cost ofpurchasedgoods or services.
  • Maintainsaccuratepurchase order records within the company’s ERP system.
  • Monitorsstockslevels andidentifiespurchasingneeds. 
  • Monitors Technician truck stock and adjusts inventory based on established stocking levels. 
  • Recommends re-order level changes to EPG leadership.
  • Ensuresincoming equipment is properly received, unpacked,labeled,and stored.
  • Processesreturnsof unused, incorrect, or defective equipment.
  • Adjustsincoming and outgoing inventory in the inventory management system.
  • Prepares inventory reports (e.g., aging, obsolescence, slow-moving items) for management review.
  • Coordinates and performs year-end inventory counts to ensure accuracyof inventorysystem.
  • Assembles install and service-related orders from stock and places orders on shelves orrelocatesorders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Ensuresproper packaging and delivery of equipment to customer sites.
  • Tracks EPG fleet vehicle maintenance and ensures adherence to maintenance schedules per company policy.
  • Works with EPG leadership to update or revise fleet policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a backup to the ServiceDepartmentcallqueue when primary resources areunavailable.
  • Followsdocumented procedures andrecommendsandassistsin implementingprocessimprovements.
  • Ensures all activitiescomplywithcompany policies and procedures.
  • All other duties asassigned.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelors or Associates degree, or2+ years of related experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft office including Word, Excel,Outlookand PowerPoint.
  • Understanding ofsupply-chainmanagement.
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter,personableand well-organized.
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers via chat, phone, or e-mail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skillsandability to work with diverse groups.
  • Proficient in working with ERP software
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
  • Ability to follow GSSC corporate values.
  • Must pass a background check.

 
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Valid and current driver’s license with acceptable driver’s license preferred.
