The Opportunity: Tax Strategist
As a member of Savant’s Tax Strategy Team, the Tax Strategist supports the development and execution of tax strategies for high-net-worth clients, families, and business owners. This role provides the technical and analytical foundation for integrated wealth planning by gathering data, conducting research, preparing recommendations, and coordinating deliverables that align with clients’ financial goals.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, motivated to grow, and thrives in a collaborative, team-first environment. You’ll work closely with senior tax specialists to ensure timely and accurate execution of tax strategies — gaining exposure to sophisticated client work and the opportunity to learn from seasoned experts in the field.
What You’ll Do

Gather, organize, and review client tax and financial data — including returns, statements, and planning documents — to support tax strategy development.

Assist in preparing tax strategy deliverables such as projections, planning summaries, and tax impact analyses.

Research federal and state tax issues, transactions, and planning opportunities; summarize findings for internal and client use.

Prepare less complex individual, trust, partnership, foundation, and corporate tax returns as needed.

Assist with analyzing IRS and state notices and drafting responses for review.

Coordinate with Tax Strategy Team members to integrate tax strategies into broader client financial plans.

Maintain accurate project tracking, documentation, and timely follow-up on assigned work.

Assist in gathering and documenting key team metrics and other operational data as requested.

Contribute to process improvements, resource maintenance, and client service initiatives.

Provide excellent client service in all interactions — whether directly or in support of senior team members.

Support colleagues during peak workload periods, maintaining a team-first approach.

Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (required)

Pursuing or holding an active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification a plus
Experience
-
1–4 years of experience in tax planning, preparation, or financial planning disciplines

Familiarity with tax research tools and resources

Exposure to high-net-worth client scenarios preferred
Skills

Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail

Effective written and verbal communication abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $61,000 - $89,500. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits.
