Minneapolis Glass in Brooklyn Park, MN is hiring a full-time Technical Sales Manager to join our Sales & Marketing Team. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER

As a Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for hitting the company revenue goals and executing the sales strategy for growth. You will be leading the quoting and proposal development for new and existing glass accounts and supervising several inside sales reps. You will champion business development activities to expand the general glass sales customer base and ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business. This requires working closely with production teams to understand complex fabrication processes, interpret technical drawings and evaluate the feasibility of customer requests.

You will act as the voice of the customer internally with cross-functional collaboration. You will regularly be visiting customers to cultivate new relationships and grow our business. You will bring ideas to life by developing prototypes and quoting proposals. Once the proposal is fully vetted, there will be a hand-off to Sales Account team to onboard the customer into our systems.

Using our business processes, including CRM (customer relationship management) software and glass specific ERP systems, you will ensure we are capturing details about customers and glass products. You create a healthy and open work environment by being a role model and making sure our company vision and core values are lived. Communication and collaboration are key to form strong relationships with customers, vendors, and your team. You are a champion of continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass and will be sought out for your expertise and ideas.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A SALES MANAGER

  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or account management, ideally in custom fabrication or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with glass, metal fabrication or other related manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in building B to B customer relationships and driving sales growth.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, materials science or related field strongly preferred. High School diploma required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and product specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Strong supervisory skills including training, delegation and performance management.
