Position Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and scheduling production activities to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and optimal use of resources. This position serves as the link between sales, operations, and logistics—balancing customer demand with production capacity to meet company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.

  • Coordinate with operations, sales, and shipping teams to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion.

  • Review and adjust schedules as needed to address production delays, equipment issues, or material shortages.

  • Analyze inventory and material availability to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.

  • Communicate changes and updates clearly across departments.

  • Track order status and proactively resolve potential bottlenecks or conflicts.

  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, schedule adherence) and recommend improvements.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to production planning and workflow efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate records within ERP or scheduling systems.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination—preferably in the steel, metals, or industrial sector.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow.

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and follow-through.
