Position Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and scheduling production activities to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and optimal use of resources. This position serves as the link between sales, operations, and logistics—balancing customer demand with production capacity to meet company goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.

Coordinate with operations, sales, and shipping teams to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion.

Review and adjust schedules as needed to address production delays, equipment issues, or material shortages.

Analyze inventory and material availability to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.

Communicate changes and updates clearly across departments.

Track order status and proactively resolve potential bottlenecks or conflicts.

Monitor performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, schedule adherence) and recommend improvements.

Support continuous improvement efforts related to production planning and workflow efficiency.

Maintain accurate records within ERP or scheduling systems.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination—preferably in the steel, metals, or industrial sector.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow.

Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
-
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and follow-through.
