Aquatech immediately needs a full-time Laboratory Maintenance Specialist to work in our Hartland, WI, ICD office.

Job Summary:

This person will build, repair and maintain pilot test apparatus as well as complete B&G facility related tasks to work in our Hartland, Wisconsin office.

Job Description:

PROCESS EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

  • Work with Engineering team to design and build pilot systems.
  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on laboratory equipment including:
  • Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
  • Mechanical seals and couplings

  • Agitators, gearboxes and drives

  • Valves, piping and gaskets

  • Heat exchangers and pressure vessels

  • Develop and implement routine preventative maintenance schedules and procedures, including keeping a log of records.

  • Support equipment installations, modifications and decommissioning, coordinating with contractors as-needed to complete work tasks.

  • Work with operations and engineering to diagnose equipment issues and implement solution.

  • Maintain a spare parts inventory to ensure key equipment is readily available.

  • Establish and maintain organization and cleanliness standards for pilot area.

  • Maintain a list of continuous improvement activities (improved insulation, mounting, etc…) and address as time is available.

  • Prepare budget estimates and value propositions for equipment-related improvements in the lab.

  • Other duties as assigned.

BUILDING AND FACILITY MAINTENANCE

  • Install or relocate office fixtures and utilities such as shelves, wall art, desks, cubicles, and lights.

  • Arrange desks and chairs to support special events.

  • Perform light carpentry, painting, and plumbing tasks as needed.

  • Maintain building infrastructure including HVAC systems, water softeners, compressed air, vacuum systems.

  • Respond to general facility-related work orders and service requests.

PILOT OPERATIONS

  • Conduct pilot and laboratory testing, ensuring that key performance indicators are met including operating conditions, sampling frequency, and testing quality.

  • Operate small industrial equipment such as reactors, mixers, pumps, heaters, centrifuges, sieve shakers and chillers.

  • Ensuring a safe working environment at all times and that all safety policies are being followed.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, maintain a positive attitude

  • Ability to be hands on and to carry out tasks with minimal monitoring

  • Possess good organizational skills and strong mechanical aptitude

Physical Job Demands:

Lifting / carrying / moving 50 pounds, will need to climb ladders, and will need to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while in the laboratory. Needs high degree of concentration in a laboratory setting.

Qualifications


Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science or other related field or Associate in Applied Science Degree with strong science course work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
