VSC Fire & Security in Richmond, Virginia is seeking candidates for the position of Recruiter.

 What you need:

  • 3 plus years of experience as a recruiter or similar, demonstrating a solid understanding of hiring practices or similar work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desirable (but not required!):
    • SHRM or PHR certification.

 What you will do:

  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs, team dynamics, and specific job requirements.
  • Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals, to identify and attract qualified candidates.
  • Conduct initial screenings to assess candidates' qualifications, skills, and cultural fit.
  • Present shortlisted candidates to hiring managers and facilitate the interview process.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Provide timely feedback to candidates and maintain positive communication throughout the process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive experience from application to onboarding.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor practices to contribute insights for effective recruitment strategies.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with hiring managers and candidates to gather feedback and improve recruitment processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external recruitment agencies and other talent acquisition partners.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records.
  • Develop and implement creative and effective strategies to source passive candidates.
  • Generate reports and metrics to measure recruitment success and identify areas for improvement.
