Job Summary

We are looking for a Centralized Wealth Advisor (based out of Salt Lake City) to join our Mountain America Investment Services team. This position serves Mountain America’s retail and small business members. With presence in Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, and Montana, an In-house Virtual Wealth Advisor offers financial products to help our members define and reach their financial goals. All products and services are offered through LPL Financial which is an independent broker/dealer firm Member FINRA/SIPC.

Job Description

SCHEDULE

Full Time; Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm

To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully:

  • Service members and accounts assigned from within the investment program
  • Work in-person and conduct member appointments virtually utilizing all the firm’s remote delivery tools
  • Call on referrals and existing members with the goal of scheduling member appointments
  • Conduct daily member meetings and assess their unique financial situation (i.e. profiling, suitability check, risk questionnaire, beneficiary review) then develop a financial plan which may include an investment strategy to implement
  • Execute recommendations by documenting member interactions, preparing paperwork, placing trades, opening/servicing accounts, ensuring all paperwork is in good order, coordinating signatures, submitting referrals to business partners
  • Ask member questions to uncover additional financial needs
  • Service and perform periodic reviews of existing member accounts and meets virtually with members to ensure investment objectives and goals are progressing according to plan
  • Stay current and analyze market conditions and otherwise educating and updating themselves about financial and investment vehicles in the market
  • Resolve notifications
  • Receive, assign and manage team tasks to ensure a high level of member service
  • Maintain team CRM data
  • Maintains compliance to all credit union and broker-dealer policies and procedures
  • Ensures high member satisfaction
  • Supports revenue and expense controls for the wealth management team
  • Networks with MACU and non-MACU business partners
  • Champions all wealth management marketing campaigns including all credit union campaigns
  • All other duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Experience

2 years previous experience providing investment/insurance products to members

 

Education

4-year bachelor's degree in business or finance or 2 additional combined years in an investments environment

 

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations

Clean U-4

FINRA Series Licenses SIE, 7, 63 & 65 (or 66 in place of 63 & 65); State Life Insurance license required.

 

Certificates such as an MBA, CFP, RICP, CLU or CHFC preferred

 

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, ability to learn applicable software required for role.

 

Managerial Responsibility

Has no managerial/supervisory responsibilities.

 

Language Skills 

Must have good member service, communication and presentation skills

 

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to effectively communicate and coach while responding to all member inquiries in an efficient manner.

 

Superior sales skills and have a command of all aspects of investment and insurance products.

 

Thorough understanding of economic principles and compliance standards

 

Demonstrates proven ability to adapt and respond appropriately to changing work demands.

 

Ability to multi-task many high priority tasks
