Position: Assistant Buyer

Location:  Atlanta/Hybrid work model

The Opportunity:  The Assistant Buyer will assist Buyer(s) with a variety of merchandising functions such as assortment, pricing, vendor management, inventory planning, and forecasting. You will assist Buyer(s) with category management, working cross-functionally with Marketing and eCommerce teams for promotional activity and web content.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with Buyer(s) to formulate and implement strategy for assigned categories based on customer needs, financial goals, industry trends, and competitive activity
  • Optimize product pricing, subject to company objectives such as revenue, and profit margin and perform retail price comparisons for assigned categories
  • Create and maintain products in Oracle system including product specifications, cost, and source
  • Manage content database on the website, including product specifications, images, content and relevant item information
  • Coordinate with cross functional resources to ensure products are correctly set up in systems
  • Assist Buyers and Fulfillment with resourcing/replacement items, assist A/P with invoice resolution and pricing discrepancies
  • Act as liaison between Merchandising and other departments such as Fulfillment, Accounting, and Customer Care with high emphasis on customer service
  • Maintain consistent feedback loop with cross functional teams to monitor impacts of strategy
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures, and documents and resolves any discrepancies
  • Leverage retail and operational best practices to ensure product content is most effective in communicating value to the end user as well as employer audience
     

The Experience You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 1+ years of related experience in Merchandising, Marketing, or Planning
  • Proven knowledge of assortment & inventory management
  • Retail Industry experience with concentration in fashion and beauty a plus
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Exceptional analytical skills, along with financial acumen
  • Ability to follow through and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Must be reliable, take initiative, and be able to work in fast paced environment
