SHIFT: Days / Evenings | Flexible based upon the needs of the College
LOCATION: Lakeshore College – Cleveland, Wisconsin
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide in-person and virtualized instructional support and academic success coaching to students with an emphasis on English Language Learner/Limited English Proficiency students . Create and maintain partnerships with faculty and others to maximize access and utilization of services to meet student needs. Collaborate with appropriate staff and faculty to schedule and prepare for study sessions to meet student needs. Track, report, and communicate student outreach, referral, participation, and progress. May travel to other locations to deliver services. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):
(85%) Direct Student Support and Follow-up
• Responsible for outreach and case managing an assigned student population who can benefit from proactive, ongoing, structured academic coaching and services, including attendance monitoring, basic skills coaching, and referring students to other internal and external campus resources
• Collaborate with academic counselors and faculty to assess, carry out, and communicate progress and results of individualized student success plans.
• Use best practices and data to plan, coordinate, and conduct a wide range of academic support services, programming, and activities, including one-on-one and group study sessions, drop-in hours, integrated supports in classrooms, and student development workshops as well as following up on student referrals to meet diverse student needs.
• Collaborate with Student Success staff and course instructors to schedule and offer academic support pertaining to coursework, study skills, time management, technology and test taking strategies.
• Provide just-in-time individual or small group tutoring and/or other academic support, including access to online resources and the college’s online tutoring services.
• Facilitate individual and small group learning activities and study sessions under the direction of course instructors.
• Provide support and assistance to students in accessing computer programs such as Lakeshore’s Course Management Systems, Office 365, and other course technologies used as learning and communication tools.
• Provide Academic Coaching sessions which focus on identifying student strengths, building academic skills, providing resources, and supporting students holistically to enable timely course progress and independent success in their studies.
(15%) Records and Maintenance
• Collect data and prepare reports as needed by collecting, compiling, and reconciling data for grant reporting, program decision-making, and quality improvement.
• Monitor student records of attendance and academic progress.
• Monitor and maintain the Academic Success Lab resources and collaboration rooms.
• Document student communication and interactions in the software system.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline is required.
- Two to four years of relevant occupational experience required.
- Specialization in working with English Language Learning or Limited English Proficiency students preferred.
