Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Environmental Management Systems Technician to join our Turquoise Ridge operation. The successful candidate will collect environmental data and samples necessary for environmental compliance reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a frontline point of contact: greet visitors, receive/screen calls, respond to general inquiries.

  • Maintain and improve the ISO14001:2015 Management System for Turquoise Ridge and oversee associated processes, such as tracking legal and other obligations, corrective action planning, risk management, and management of change.

  • Assist with field activities such as sample collection and other manual labor tasks as required

  • Perform site compliance inspections.

  • Manage scheduling of meetings and appointments; coordinate logistics for events (room setup, catering, travel arrangements, technology support).

  • Document control and data entry: maintain accurate records, spreadsheets, reports; update and revise policies/procedures as needed. 

  • Create requisitions for items/services on behalf of Environmental; input orders into SAP and monitor their status. 

  • Support facility and office services: coordinate maintenance, order supplies, monitor housekeeping standards for safety/compliance.

  • Prepare confidential documents/presentations; manage mail, records distribution. (Snagajob)

  • Interface with internal business partners: liaise between managers, employees, etc. (Snagajob)

  • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting departmental goals for safety, operational efficiency and sustainability.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant, business assistant or in a similar support role.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with a variety of stakeholders. 

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a demanding/fast moving environment.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

  • Familiarity with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle or other ERP) is a strong plus. 

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 

  • A valid driver’s license is often required (for site locations). 

  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.

  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors throughout the year, with little supervision in remote areas required

  • Ability to handle vehicles and navigate dirt roads making decisions to prevent property damage and safety events required

  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with various levels of employees required

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously required

  • Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required
