The Legal Assistant will support our in-house legal team in various aspects of legal administration, including document preparation, legal research, and maintaining records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and compile data as needed.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and hard copy filing systems for legal documents.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court officials as required.
  • Manage and update case files, ensuring all information is current and accessible.
  • Prepare and process legal forms and applications.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phones, managing calendars, and handling mail.
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field.
  • Certification from an accredited paralegal program preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Vision abilities required by the job are close vision. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate office equipment such as a computer, copier, and office supplies.
