Job Summary:

In partnership with the Senior Director of Donor Engagement, the Assistant Director of Donor Engagement provides essential support for Regis University’s Stewardship and Annual Giving efforts through a strong focus on project management, data management, reporting and reporting, and stakeholder communications.

The Assistant Director plays a vital role in ensuring University Advancement meets its fundraising goals through donor cultivation and stewardship in service of donor pipeline development and lifetime giving among established donors. The position also serves goals as articulated in the Regis University Strategic Plan, including the development of a culture of philanthropy across the University community.

This role ensures that philanthropic funds donated for scholarships— including endowed and current-use accounts — are accurately maintained, compliant with fundraising laws and university policies, and aligned with donor intent. The Assistant Director also supports the gift agreement process, oversees scholarship stewardship, and plays a critical role in supporting the Annual Giving program through campaign execution, including crowdfunding initiatives, direct mail campaigns and events, and data analysis, campaign tracking, and reporting.

The Assistant Director strengthens accountability, enhances donor trust, and contributes to building a sustainable pipeline of support for Regis.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management Annual Giving programs including direct mail, digital campaigns, giving days, crowdfunding, and parent/faculty/staff giving initiatives. Coordinate a calendar of donor-facing fundraising campaigns including direct mail.

  • Lead project management of year-round Stewardship programs including acknowledgments, impact reporting, recognition societies, and appreciation events. Coordinate a stewardship calendar across multiple channels (mail, phone, email, social media, and events).

  • Support the philanthropic scholarship stewardship process, including maintaining records and preparing scholarship impact reports and donor acknowledgments. Support University Advancement to ensure scholarship fund activity complies with fundraising laws, institutional policy, and donor requirements. Coordinate with Financial Aid, Advancement Services, and Donor Engagement colleagues to ensure donor intent is honored and reporting is accurate. 

  • Leverage data segmentation and emerging tools (including AI) to personalize acknowledgement and recognition efforts, fundraising appeals, and donor experiences. Monitor metrics for evaluating stewardship effectiveness and donor satisfaction. 

  • Serve as a campus-wide ambassador for a culture of philanthropy, providing helpful customer service and resource to campus partners in crowdfunding initiatives.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours in non-office environments including off campus.

Qualifications: 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent experience is required. A combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in advancement, donor relations, fundraising operations, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience generating data reports and analysis for decision-making.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Commitment to ethical fundraising practices and honoring donor intent.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Experience ('Nice to have’ but not required)

  • Experience managing and maintaining data within a donor or constituent relationship management (CRM) system such as Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or Ellucian Advance.

  • Experience working with online giving software platforms.

  • Experience in strategic fundraising and/or communications.

  • Experience in higher education and/or nonprofit sectors.

  • Experience with supporting high-impact events.

Special knowledge, skills, abilities

  • Comfort with managing multiple projects simultaneously and accurately.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability, desire and willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment with internal and external constituencies.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and self-motivator.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with donors and University constituents.

Pay Rate:

$58,000 - $62,000/ annually, commensurate with qualifications
